Bears host All Star Classic Game

The off-season is slowly winding down as the Bears prepare themselves not only mentally but also physically for the next gruelling season in the AIHL. Looking to improve on last year’s semi-final defeat the team is staying in shape with a bit of deserved fun in the form of the Bears’ All Stars Classic event taking place on Saturday 19th February.

Brett Nelson-Bond had this to say about the finish to the Bears last campaign. “It was a massive turn around for us last season finishing 3rd in the regular season and making another semi finals appearance. “

The event will feature several different activities for players and supporters to participate in such as a Street Hockey Game, the All Stars Game and post game food and drinks at the famous Grey Gums Pub.

The street hockey game is set to start at 3pm onwards out the front of the rink and between the 1st and 2nd intermission we will be having a chuck a puck competition plus a scrimmage for the kids.

The All Star Classic will have the Bears Veterans (over 35's) facing off against the Rookies (Under 35s)

After the boys have finished flashing their skates they will adjourn to the Grey Gums pub to kick back and relax. For anyone wishing to join the players and get a chance to meet them outside the game, the pub can be found right around the corner from the rink at the corner of Mulgoa Rd and Blaikie St.
