History (Note: all stats above are from 2005 to current) Last meeting: 20/06/2015 - Game 52 - Melbourne Mustangs 3 @ Perth Thunder 4, Perth Arena - http://aihl.net/1LZuJXL
Season
Star performers Perth Thunder: Andrew Cox Last weekend, Jordy Kyros was the star, claiming seven points, five goals and reaching his 100th match in the AIHL. Despite that, and sitting four games behind Kyros on 96 games for the Thunder, Andrew Cox starred behind the scenes. Cox scored seven points of his own with five assists in last weekend’s result and continues to be the fifth highest scoring local player in the AIHL and the Thunder’s highest local point scorer. He’s another player headed for his best season ever in the AIHL. Melbourne Mustangs: Vinnie Hughes There are few things that Vinnie Hughes has yet to do in his AIHL career. Having won four Goodall Cups with two different clubs, played for Australia and been one of the toughest players to have pulled on a jersey in the AIHL, Vinnie Hughes has hit his 200th game. It’s a great milestone for someone who has done everything in this league and has had a career almost as long as the league has been running. Cold Hard Stats 1. This is will be the fourth meeting between the Thunder and the Mustangs in 2015. The Thunder currently lead the season series 2-1-0-0. 2. The Mustangs have won five from six games against the Thunder at Perth Ice Arena. 3. The Thunder (60) have scored more goals in games against the Mustangs (53) despite the Mustangs having won more games. 4. With five goals and seven points last weekend, the Thunder's Jordy Kyros has equalled his highest goal tally in AIHL seasons (9) and is three points short of his record season (24 in 2014). 5. The Mustangs' Joey Hughes has scored 248 games (236 regular season and 12 finals points combined) in his AIHL career so far. Livestream: No Livestream (Fox Sports Game of the Week) |
