Season
Star performers Sydney Bears: Lachlan McKenzie In his second AIHL season, Lachlan McKenzie (formerly Allport), who was recently voted the most impressive rookie of 2015, has claimed his first points in AIHL hockey this season. Although he’s still searching for his first AIHL goal, the Australian Under-18 representative is still only 18 so will have plenty of time to build an impressive AIHL career. Sydney Ice Dogs: Kevin Harvey Although he hasn’t yet found the back of the net, AHL veteran Kevin Harvey has added a new level of class to the Ice Dogs, having scored a point in every game he’s played for the Ice Dogs, except for the last start shutout loss. With seven points in seven games, it looks like it will only be matter of time before Harvey hits the back of the net and opens the floodgates. Cold Hard Stats 1. This is will be the third meeting between the Sydney Ice Dogs and Sydney Bears in 2015. The series is drawn, with the Bears’ record 1-0-0-1. 2. The Sydney Bears hold a 6-4-1-0 lead in the overall series against the Ice Dogs at Penrith Ice Palace. 3. The Sydney Ice Dogs have won 11 of the last 13 games against the Bears. 4. Bears import Joseph Harcharik has a 10-game point-scoring streak, with 24 points in that time, including two hat-tricks in the past two weeks. 5. Ice Dogs forward Scott Clemie has almost tripled his career record, having scored five points this season with three goals and two assists, after scoring one goal and two assists in his first 30 games before this season.
