'Wombat' Harvey links with Brave for finals tilt |

This week CBR Brave Ice Hockey announced Canadian-Kiwi Matt "Wombat" Harvey will be returning to the Brave line up in early July. Harvey was instrumental for the Brave last season, scoring 24 points (seven goals, 17 assists) helping the Brave become the first Canberran team to reach the playoffs in AIHL history. In 2014, Harvey played 27 games and his 24 points lead all Brave defenceman in scoring and ranked him 3rd in the league for points by a defenceman. “Having Matt back is huge for us," CBR Brave coach Brad Hunt said. "Great in the room, and great on the ice. He will solidify our defence and give us heaps of more options.” Harvey steps into a new look Brave defence group, which includes new faces like import Kyle Mariani and AIHL veteran Tomas Manco. Harvey will also be re-united with CBR stalwarts Mark Rummukainen, Aaron Clayworth and James Byers. The Brave have had a solid start to season 2015, with seven wins from 12 games, the team currently sits in the third place. This weekend the team travel to Melbourne to face the The Melbourne Ice Ice for a much anticipated double header at the Medibank Icehouse. |
