Blue Tongues & Ice Reschedule Abandoned Game
Thursday, June 14, 2012 - Submitted by AIHL
The Gold Coast Blue Tongues and the Melbourne Ice have agreed to reschedule the game left incomplete on Sunday the 3rd of June. The game was abandonned due to unsafe conditions at Bundall ice rink on the Gold Coast.

The rescheduled match will be held in Melbourne at the Medibank Icehouse on Thursday, 23 August starting at 7pm.

Although entitled to the forfeit and competition points, it was the Melbourne Ice who offered to reschedule the game.

AIHL Deputy Commissioner Ben Kiely said, “I’m pleased that the two teams have been able to come to a mutually acceptable compromise in this case. It's a tribute to Melbourne Ice’s commitment to its fellow teams”.

"We also need to pay tribute to the Medibank Icehouse for their assistance in accomodating the extra game at short notice."

The game is officially a Blue Tongues home game, however Melbourne Ice members will receive free entry.

This announcement follows the confirmation last week that the Gold Coast Blue Tongues would play out the rest of their season from the Acacia Ridge facility in Brisbane.
